Birth of a Gift

In 2023, without having sought or expected it, Brother Esteban began receiving inspirations to write songs.

“Normally, after each retreat,” he shares, “I would receive a message that I had to turn into a song. Each group brought its own spiritual needs, and the Spirit inspired me to compose what they needed to hear.”

Thus, his first songs were born, simple yet profound, many of them calling for peace and the end of wars. In less than a year, Brother Esteban wrote nine albums, all born from a prayerful heart and a deep desire to comfort, encourage, and unite.

Today, that inspiration has borne fruit in ten albums with over 70 songs, written in English, Spanish, and bilingual formats. Many of these songs reflect his spiritual journey and his love for God. One of his companions in this creative process has been Brother Stan Zubek, S.M., who has helped him transcribe and shape his melodies.

A Recognition That Confirms His Calling

On February 20, 2025, Brother Esteban received news that filled his heart with joy and gratitude: he was accepted as a composer by Simply Liturgical, https://simplyliturgical.org > a community dedicated to promoting liturgical music inspired by faith. In the official welcome letter, the director of the organization expressed:

“Your passion for composing and your dedication to creating meaningful liturgical music truly stood out during the application process. Your musical voice and creative vision will enrich our community and help many experience the liturgy in a deeper way.”

This recognition not only affirms his musical talent, but also confirms that God continues to work in hidden and unexpected ways, surprising those who are willing to be led by the Spirit.

An Unexpected Gift from God

With deep emotion, Brother Esteban reflects:

“At 46years old, the Lord Jesus gave me a gift I never expected, the gift of composing songs and praises for His name. I thought there was nothing more to seek in myself, that the Lord no longer had plans for me. But surprisingly, He has multiplied what I never asked for.”

His words invite us into hope. When we think everything has been said and done, God writes a new chapter. When we believe there are no more surprises, He shows us that His love is always creative and ever new.

“When you serve the Lord Jesus, always expect great surprises.”
