  • What time do the retreats begin/end?
Weekend retreats typically begin with dinner at 6:00 or 6:30 with arrivals after 4:30 p.m. Retreats typically end with Mass on Sunday at about noon. Summer Family Retreats begin on Monday at 5:00 p.m. with arrivals beginning at 2:00 p.m. and end on Saturday at about noon.
  • What is the program like for your retreats?
We offer communal style retreats. Retreats are generally led by a team of lay volunteers and/or retreat house staff, as well as a Chaplain. Typically there are presentations, large/small group discussions and special liturgies/prayer services. Daily Mass is a part of all retreats. We also feature a block of free time on all retreats to enjoy the beautiful beaches, nature trails or to take a trip into Cape May City.
  • Is the center handicapped-accessible?
Yes, the center is equipped with ramps, an elevator, and an accessible bedroom & bathroom.
  • Do I get my own room?
We have 22 bedrooms with at least twin-sized two beds in each room. Generally, we assign two people to a room, however if a retreat is not full you may request a single room.
  • Do you have private bathrooms?
No. “Dorm-style” bathrooms are located on each floor of the center each having multiple private showers/tub and toilets.
  • What types of meals are served?
We serve delicious home-made well-balanced meals on a buffet. There is almost always a fresh salad served with all lunches and dinners.
  • What if I am on a special diet?
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate special diets, however we do offer refrigerator space for you to store your own food. We also have a microwave oven that can be used by our guests.
  • Why do your rates seem lower than other retreat centers?
To help keep costs reasonable and to foster community-building, we operate more like a family, asking each retreatant to bring their own linens and towels. Retreatants are also asked to help with cleaning up after meals and light cleaning of their bedroom and common areas of the Center prior to departure.
  • Can a non-Catholic attend your retreats?
All are welcomed. Our retreat programs do include Catholic sacraments and elements such as daily Mass, Reconciliation and prayers. However, retreat topics tend be Christian in nature rather than specifically Catholic. We do ask non-Catholics to refrain from entering fully into Catholic sacraments. For example, non-Catholics are asked not to receive communion as part of the Mass, but are offered a special blessing instead.
  • What is the dress code for the weekend?
Dress code for our retreats is casual.
  • What do I need to bring?
We ask all to bring twin-sized bed sheets & pillowcase (or if you only have larger sizes – bring what you have and you can tuck excess under mattress), bath & beach towels and toiletries.
  • What if I need to cancel?
We do offer refunds if you cancel at least 2 weeks prior to the retreat.
  • Does the Center have Wi-fi?
We have limited wi-fi availability, however we do allow guests to access the wi-fi, especially if needed for work or an emergency.
  • Are phones and electronics allowed?
We strongly discourage the use of electronic devices (especially for children). Phones are permitted for use by adults as long as they are kept on SILENT for the duration of the retreat. Phones are not permitted on Teen Retreats (they will be collected on Friday evening and returned on Sunday).
